Quite simply, The Hope & Anchor is THE place to be for sports.

With screens covering almost every area of the pub, showing all the sports on all the channels, this is the pub to visit to see the big game in the best possible way. With great sets of football supporters from Derby County, Liverpool, Manchester United, Arsenal, and many more, the atmosphere is unbeatable and always friendly and welcoming, no matter which colours you wear!

We have a great following for rugby too, and cricket, golf, and any other sport you can think of are on offer. Want to watch something but not sure where you can see it? Call us and ask – chances are we will show it for you and your friends.

And it’s not just sports on screen we’re passionate about. Summer Sunday evenings offer the great atmosphere of boules with one of our two teams in action most weeks. Come and cheer them on and join in the fun.

We’re also proud to host and support the players, staff and followers of Wirksworth Town FC, our successful local Saturday team, and Wirksworth Albion FC on Sundays.
